AuRü GP | Glycol protector with stainless steel drip tray
Air conditioning and similar systems used in industry often work with water-polluting substances such as glycol. Leaks could cause these substances to enter the groundwater or wastewater. Both nationally and in Europe, water protection plays an important role as part of environmental protection and is laid down in various laws. Accordingly, AuRü’s retention systems are an optimal solution for retaining water-polluting substances in compliance with the law and thus preventing contamination of drinking water. The drip pans must meet high requirements: On the one hand, they must be liquid-tight and on the other, they must be highly resistant to the stored medium. Retention systems are therefore installed to hold back water-polluting substances and thus prevent contamination of drinking water. The Lower Saxony-based company AuRü specializes in the manufacture of collection systems and has developed a glycol protector, among other things.
The AuRü GP glycol protector – our basic product
The AuRü GP relies on pressure monitoring and is therefore suitable as a retention system for simple water-glycol circuits. The pressure sensor is integrated into the water-glycol circuit and measures the pressure within the system, which in turn can be stored in the control electronics. A control box takes over the complete control of the individual components and regulates the interaction of the electrical components in the glycol protector. If pressure fluctuations or drops occur, the connected valves are closed and an alarm signal is forwarded to the building management system (BMS). For open systems or circuits with a pressure equalization function, an AuRü W retention system should be used, as this also has a glycol sensor that can detect small leaks as well as monitoring the pressure. The valves are locked when de-energized so that the tray system is closed even in the event of a power failure.
In addition, the AuRü GP has robust stainless steel collection trays that are connected to each other by banjo bolts. This ensures high stability of the entire tray construction and also enables a balanced water level in all connected collection trays. A drive valve with protection class IP66 (dust-tight and protection against strong water jets) is also part of the standard equipment of our glycol protector. This ball valve is available as a DN25 or DN50 version and normally ensures a high flow rate of the rainwater that enters.
Everything from a single source: installation and maintenance service
In addition to high-quality and innovative products, we attach great importance to providing our customers with comprehensive and competent support. This includes an installation and maintenance service. Teams are deployed throughout Europe to support you with installation and commissioning. We offer a maintenance service to ensure the long-term reliable operation of the systems. This includes cleaning the tank system and checking for leaks as well as checking the overall construction for stability. Defective components are replaced immediately if possible. Simple and fast returns management for defective products or components rounds off the service offering.

Optional accessories for the AuRü GP
We also offer a wide range of useful accessories for your glycol protector to further increase its functionality. These include various heating systems: a heating mat with an external thermostat or a trapezoidal drain heating system that can be safely integrated into the separator in a shock-resistant manner. Also available is our special Flex-O-Frame system – optionally with ball joint – with which you can easily adapt the drip tray to local conditions.
Glycol monitoring
The glycol sensor and glycol scanner react to minute amounts of glycol in the water. The glycol sensor detects these low quantities thanks to its gas/diffusion sensor principle and passes the measured values on to the switching electronics. The glycol scanner detects the medium by sonic measurement. The type of glycol used can be used by the intelligent control system for precise evaluation, thereby achieving an optimum measured value.
KWS connection technology
(No water level)
Our drip trays are connected to each other with so-called banjo bolts. These contribute to the stability of the sump construction and also enable a balanced water level in all connected sumps. The medium entering the sumps passes through the banjo bolts and is distributed equally in all connected sumps. The KWS tray connection stands for “no water level” and is designed so that no water level can form in the tray – it is only possible that small puddles can form in the tray area.
FastDrive valve
The AuRü Fast-Drive valve is connected to the drain of the tank system and closes within one second when a leak is detected.
Switching electronics
The control electronics of the control box used in the glycol protector takes over the complete switching of the individual components and regulates the interaction of the respective electronic components. In the event of a pressure drop, the connected valves are closed and an alarm is sent to the building management system (BMS). The switching electronics rely on a potential-free alarm transmitter.
